Half of what I say is meaningless
But I say it just to reach you, Julia.
Julia, Julia, oceanchild, calls me
So I sing a song of love, Julia
Julia, seashell eyes, windy smile, calls me
So I sing a song of love, Julia.
Her hair of floating sky is shimmering, glimmering
In the sun
Julia, Julia, morning moon, touch me
So I sing a song of love, Julia.
When I cannot speak my heart
I can only speak my mind, Julia.
Julia, sleeping sand, silent cloud, touch me
So I sing a song of love, Julia.
Hum hum hum hum...calls me
So I sing a song of love, Julia, Julia, Julia.

huckleberries
i found myself weaving snakishly through this past weekend, owning somewhat of a subconciously purposeful enjoyment in throwing myself into precarious situations. cheap wine, mercedes benz, ol saloon bar in immigrant, paradise valley, dented mercedes benz, sexism, bigotry, pretentious millionares, telling pretentious millionare aholes that they are pretentious aholes=friday night.
sloppy greasy food, bloody marys and red beer, yellowstone river, huckleberry shake, witnessing idiotic ex boyfriend behavior, confusion as to what i saw in him in the first place, pesto basil tortellini, fine cheese, cheap wine, guitar hero and wii bowling till the wee hours=saturday night.
recooperating presently. that huckleberry shake was the highlight.

personal space
good morning. i was able to sleep in today, which is brilliant in my book. i live in the top apartment of this adorable white house, where buckets of natural light stream in the various shaped and sized windows throughout. so this particular morning, i have hours, not to kill, but to absorb. a breakfast of homemade zucchini bread (thank you teunny) and freshly sliced watermelon awaits me...as i flounce around in this ridiculously large pink robe of mine, with tori amos owning pandora in the musical background, i am thoroughly enjoying my own space.

rat race
my life has turned into a cyclic display of grappling for those few blissful moments of sleep, in betwixt arduous classes and work. i am not sure if cyclic display is the right expression, more like an internal war has been waged. between my sensible passivity who likes to whistle while she works and the whirlwind tyrant that storms through life with a take no prisoners vengeance. so far, the tyrant has gained headway, running through this race so fast but forgetting to breathe....so maybe my sensibility will slowly overtake the tyrant, seeings how that grounded and well founded part of me has and will assuredly be breathing through the entirety.

catapalooza
in an effort to pass time here on campus, waiting for 4:30 to rear its head....i will commentate on the present.
i am currently nestled in the shade of some type of deciduous tree here on campus, as catapalooza snakes through the courtyard. the msu pep band is busting out a spirited bobcat number, completely out of sequence. out of sequence like the football teams offense that they root for. moments ago, two harnessed ferrets by the names of frodo and blaze just weasled on by, leaving their funky ferret odor. had a friendly conversation with a bright red-headed guitar player named connor from new england that is taking a break from the stage while the pep band plays. as i sat down, initially, i noticed a woman in front of me, who looked wildly familiar. after a quick cat nap...yes, in the eye of the hurricane that is campus today, i woke to find this woman looking at me. she says, you really look familiar....yup...we know eachother....how? a yoga instructor from last semester.
ooo...connor is getting back on the stage now....and the yoga instructors booth sign just fell down with the wind. seems she is the director of bozemans student activities as well.
connor has a suprisingly deep sensuous captivating voice for his scrawly appearance.
anyways, i am getting restless and still have two hours until i meet with dr. hutchinson to set up undergraduate research times that will fit with my schedule. i am going to get a snack....and possible come partake in this whirlwind of action instead of writing about it. peace and love.

stretch
I rose today early, with the orange sun. the magnificent colors spread across the horizon of the bridgers, gently breathing movement and life onto the sleeping world. Gazing out, I watched the colors soften from an electric orange to a faint yellow hue. wishing I would have worn something orange today.

retroville
so as my whirlwind summer starts to slowly wind down, and a slower paced bozeman reality has its way with me, i breathe out.
i am home. i am back in the throngs of life i have become accostomed to. 9 ta 5. school. bills. and the frisky winter on the horizon. but, i have my friends and my familiarity which is pretty nice. nice like nestling next to a blazing fire in the holds of an old comfy sofa. nice like conversation pouring easily like a good red wine. just nice and comfy.
as i left my house this morning, i walked out with a few intentions. i am moving and would ideally like to do so before school starts. i start to open my computer in the local 'wild joes' coffee shop, when i see my friend, pascal. after our initial embrace and super smiles....i find that he is moving to L.A. along with work ventures, montana winters have really just gotten the better of him...and lo and behold...he offered his place to me. so there. i close my computer and jaunt downtown to take a look at my new stomping grounds...its retro. the kind of retro which includes carpeted bathroom ceilings. but its nice and it has character. its perfect. its clean and its got a modern twist with new appliances, nice oak walls and a gas fireplace.
so, i am a happy camper. happy with a shaggy camping spot. my fire has officially been stoked.
