it turned out to be a rollercoaster, so i am gonna go slow, so that i don´t miss any of the peaks and valleys of the story......
we were first timers here...headed to a destination we had never been in a country we had yet to drive in and in a car that resembled a tin can. but we were on a budget....so....we took the tin can.
after the initial negotiations with the renters...(everything is negotiable here)...we signed an agreement for 3 days, 142 dollars....FULL COVERAGE...back on sunday at 2...i am the only driver. perfect. we will pay when we return the car. lets goooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

two hours later....we surface from san jose traffic.....
as the day rolls on, the clouds get thicker, the thunder gets louder, and the rain just pours...
it wasn´t uncommon to see bikers clad in rain gear...this guy kept pace with us, borderline creepy smile in tow, for a good half hour....
yes, he apparently has a thing for blondes....one more time, shall we?
we are lovin it, i am a full fledged tica driver at this point...gunning it around corners, sneaking past buses, basically driving like a bat out of hell...just because i can. then, just outside of san ramone, 30 minutes from la fortuna, the roads start to snake.....so its pouring and its snaking....
this is the understatement of the year....
i had been behind the wheel for a good 3.5 hours, and i knew my girlfriend was itching to drive....so i pulled over....she got behind the wheel...and....that is the beginning of the end of our car...where tin can becomes toasty...
